A healthy way to manage STRESS

Do you have this feeling like you seem having too much pressure? You tend to lose sleep anxious about tomorrow's tasks? Whether you are an adult, teen, or a kid, at times you experience stress. There are things you can do to minimize stress as well as manage inevitable stress.

You should "listen to your body" so you can know when stress is affecting your health. Once you've gone through the process of identifying the fact that you are, indeed, dealing with stress, then here are some suggestions or a number of ways to handle that stress. They include such things as:

Relax. Once in a while let yourself unwind. It is important and of great help that you do yoga, walking, reading, listening to music, or massage therapy.

Make time for yourself. Being such a workaholic sometimes, we tend to forget about ourselves. Make sure that you need to set aside at least 15 minutes of each day to do something no matter how busy you are. You may take a solitary stroll, work on a hobby, call a friend or do anything that is relaxing for 15 minutes.

Sleep. This is the common thing that you encounter when you are under stress, lack of sleep. Sleep helps both your body and mind relax and unwind. Getting a good and restful sleep will also go a long way toward decreasing your stress level and your risk of illness.

Eat right. Avoid food and drinks that are high in sugar and caffeine. Fruits, vegetables, and protein is highly recommended.

Get moving. Indulge in a physical activity. It helps to relieve your tense muscles and helps you stay calm.

Talk to friends. Find someone you are comfortable with whom you can talk to and share your problems and feelings without judging you. It also helps to hear a different point of view other than your own. This way you can freely release something that bothers you.

Get help from a professional if and when needed. To start with, try talking to a therapist or someone from the clergy. Many medications can really help to ease the symptoms of depression and anxiety that are common during stressful situations. Don't let fear get in the way of finding help for you.

Help others. As you reach out to help someone else, you take the focus from yourself. This can also help relieve your stress.

Get a hobby. Find something that you enjoy the most and try to explore new interests. It can as well help a lot to open a whole new world for you.

Set limits. Never be afraid to say “no” to requests for your time and energy. Set boundaries.

Stress can be a very debilitating factor, including for people with disabilities and especially while they are working in agribusiness. Don't be afraid to ask for help, especially if you believe stress is now starting to impact too much of your life and its actions.
